Five-pronged strategy for business success

The development of Pulse Mining’s out-of-the-box, mobile-device friendly, operational analytics suite is being achieved in record time with the help of a five-pronged strategy.

Even during the mining industry downturn over the past couple of years, Pulse Mining has been able to leverage the opportunities inherent in the need for mining companies to optimise productivity. One of the ways we have done this is through the development of a new business line of targeted visualisation and analytics tools to enable our clients to gain significantly improved insight into their tactical and operational business data.

The development of our mining-specific, out-of-the-box, mobile-device friendly, operational analytics suite is being achieved in record time with the help of a five-pronged strategy of Agile Development, Collaboration, Partnerships, Channels and Integration:

  • Agile Development – using a 2-week software development cycle, coupled with an emphasis on developing and releasing prototypes quickly to our collaborating clients for assessment, feedback and rapid refinement, we have been able to develop complete solutions within a matter of weeks, rather than months or years as is often the case.
  • Collaboration – with clients to develop new product – using our unique co-creation methodology whereby product innovation and improvements funded by any individual client are eventually shared with all clients.
  • Partnerships – with international software/business support enterprises to give us global credibility and the ability to scale our product offerings.
  • Channels – with distribution partners to enable us to re-sell to different markets; to tap into new networks; to spin the Pulse Mining brand in new directions; to gain access to new client areas; to access new areas of specialisation; and to help us distribute, maintain and service our products.
  • Integration – design and development to ensure integration with ‘best of breed’ applications; integration with Tier 1 ERP products to enable Pulse Mining to globalise our expertise in our key differentiator areas; development of our differentiators as stand-alone components; positioning our key differentiators as ‘best of breed’; and assembly of components for new markets.

Data-driven decision making is essential to current mining operations and is driven by data availability, analysis and action. For most miners there is no lack of available data; it is available from their business applications, such as the Pulse Mining ERP, various geological and survey software packages, and increasingly from the mining machinery itself.

Insightful analysis to enable effective actioning of this data is another matter… this is the area that Pulse Mining has targeted over the past 18 months. Our world-renowned operational analytics solutions are focused on the cultural change and continual process improvements required within the industry, and in particular delivery against the wide range of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) defined by our clients as necessary to maximise productivity and operational effectiveness.
